I thought you might enjoy seeing a recent photo of Zack. Todd and I get to visit him every couple of weeks and I've started taking pictures at our visits so that we can see the changes in him. He doesn't look like himself really. Short hair makes him look like he's in the military and his glasses make him look so . . . I don't even have the words. He's almost as tall as I am and his voice is stranger than strange. (Growing up with all girls in the house I never realized how much change boys go through at age 14. It takes a lot to get to manhood!)
Soon we will be able to announce his address so that anyone can write to him and send him wishes of health and happiness. Until then, keep him in your prayers. He's going through some very difficult and life changing moments of growth. And sometimes that's hard to face.
It's always tough to address our situation with Zack but many of you have been sending your thoughts and prayers our way and we thank you for all of your support. Zack would never have made it through this rough year without the unconditional love from everyone around us. We are truly blessed to have had the opportunity to get him some much needed help and he is finally embracing his rehabilitation program and starting to show progress. For some time he was completely shut down and showed no emotion or concern for making any changes in his life. I think he was feeling a bit sorry for himself really. But recently something inside of him triggered a new attitude and he's on his way to recovery. We can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. We have missed him so much and look forward to him coming back home. The holidays are coming and it's not going to be the same without him.

Todd and Amy,
You guys are awesome people and have a strong love for your children. We believe these things are the foundation to work through any difficult situation. Look forward to seeing Zack again as well as the rest of your family. Happy Holidays!
