What a special opportunity I have for Jordyn to be ready for baptism at the same time I am! We've decided to share this day as mother and daughter and would love for you and your family to attend! For the past several years we have been growing closer as a family to the Lord and want everyone to know of our commitment and intention to live with him again someday. We would love to share this special day with you so meet us at the Timpanogos park at the mouth of Provo Canyon to see the joy that God has blessed our lives with!

Elk Hunt
There's not a prettier time of year to be hunting in the mountains and if it wasn't for that you wouldn't get me up there! But Todd had an amazing time hunting his Wasatch tag with his dad. This was a once in a lifetime that they had been putting in for since ... well over 16 years so it was a huge deal. Dad got an elk and Todd will have to be patient for another shot in some other lifetime! I hope someday Todd logs in and shares the story ... oh wait, I'm sure he'll write it in a Heritage Makers Storybook!
Todd couldn't have pushed through the week without the help of his good buddy Don and Don's son-in-law Tyler. They were troopers and hung in there with him all week!

Kayden gets branded a Cub Scout
Our first pack night was full of surprises as the Scout Master and his posse put the word out that a new Cub Scout was "wanted" by the troop. They went to great lengths to welcome Kayden into the group and what fun it was to see him have a great time.
They even branded him a scout (with corn starch and water) and we had such a great time.Kayden already earned his Wolf Badge and went through the painting of the face, which is customary in this pack when a major advancement happens. It was such fun to make commitments with Kayden that as a family we will help him grow in his scouting journey. Proud mom and dad today!

Heritage Makers
I'm so proud to be a Heritage Makers Consultant. Our little company is getting bigger and reaching out to people and places I never saw coming. This past month we've been honored to receive a ranking of #132 on the INC 500 and #9 for Consumer Services and Products. We don't stop there when we make it to #18 on Utah's Fast 50 which is the top growing companies in the state! I'm honored to be still involved with this amazing mission and look forward to many years in the future with them.
I've taken a little different approach recently to my business and have focused more on my clients and less on my team. I'd love to tell you about it so visit my blog to check things out. You'll find me at www.StorybookWithAmy.com

First day of school
Summer came and went way too fast. I can't believe it's over. But I'm glad it is . . . I need to get back to work!! Jordyn's in the 6th grade this year (oldest in the school!) and Kayden is in 3rd. They both love their teachers and are doing well already. We found the coolest thing to help us with our math . . . www. mathmagician.com. The kids WANT to practice their math because they get time on the computer. Usually I have to fight them to study, so this has been awesome! My kids are growing too fast . . . before I know it they'll be graduated!

The Wolf Pack
Tuesday, August 4, 2009
Jordyn had an absolutely fantastic year in swimming! She's a natural born swimmer and enjoyed being on the Utah County Swim team. Her best stroke by far is the freestyle where her best time was 32 seconds! But her major accomplishment was the end of the season swim meet where her coach encouraged her to do the IM (individual medley) where she had to swim all 4 strokes - 100 yards! She wasn't too happy about it but was a good sport and gave it a try. Considering she'd never swam the butterfly we thought it would be interesting to say the least. But Jordyn didn't just finish the race . . . she took 3rd place in the entire meet! Here's her trophy to remind us of what an awesome little competitor she really is. Congratulations Jordyn!

This Matters To Me
For quite some time, we have been attending Christ Evangelical church in Orem. We've found a place we can call home there and love the people and the ministry. As we've become more involved we've supported the building of a new facility for our congregation. This is an exciting time for our church because we are about to catch the attention of many who will see our new building along I-15. Worshiping in this church has brought interesting questions from those who don't understand any other faith besides LDS. So if you're ever wondering what we believe or how we worship I encourage you to come and check it out! It is through God's grace that we have found Him and have a place to call home.
What matters to me? That this new building comes together and that we have a place that our congregation can call home. Check out this great introduction to what we're all about and what we're doing. Glory to God forever. Click on this website: http://www.thismattersto.me/

4th of July Starvation Style
Great times at Starvation this year. We try to get out to Starvation as much as possible but the 4th seemed to be the time this year. We love to get on the boat anytime we can, but when you get to share it with awesome friends you just can't beat it. Here's some pics that speak for themselves.

Flag Football
Kayden's in 3rd grade this year and that means FLAG FOOTBALL!!! What fun it's been to see him start off kind of shy and work into an assertive player that loves to throw and catch the ball. Todd's been working with him a lot and is having a ton of fun watching Kayden come out of his shell a bit and grow into a STAR! He wants to play quarterback but usually gets put in as a defensive lineman . . . guess that buff little bod of his is going to pay off. Watch for my blog in 15 years and you might see a post from the super bowl!
Here's Kayden makin' a play:

My Heritage Makers gig
I'll be the first to admit that I work very hard to be the best I can be in my company. But it's moments like these that I just LOVE what I do! Last week I attended the leadership retreat for all Heritage Makers leaders and learned from the best of the best how to be my best and grow my amazing business. This is a photo of me and our company President Doug Cloward, who is a constant inspiration to me as I continue the climb to success as a future Executive.
Not only has my financial profile changed as a result of this amazing company, but I have grown to love the women I get to work with on a daily basis. This is a photo of all of the leaders from my team who attended the conference with me. Out of the 50 or so that were there I am honored to have had 11 of them from my team!! These ladies inspire me and keep me plugging along . . . and I would be nowhere without them. I LOVE YOU GUYS!
When you attend a leadership conference you get to know your roomies quite well too. We were given an assignment to create a recorded skit on overcoming objections in our business and our team did an amazing job . . . so good in fact that WE WON the competition!!! This was us winning the award!
Above all that I'm grateful for in this experience is the close personal relationships that have blessed my life. Some absolutely amazing women cross your path and this little lady isn't getting too far from my heart anytime soon. Jen and I met at a leaders conference and have been close ever since. It's comforting to know that there are people out there in the world who love you unconditionally and want you to succeed because they love you and not because it helps their agenda. Jen Zucker is one of those people in my life . . . my cup runneth over.

Swim Team
So we've experienced a lot of firsts this past year and this weekend brought yet another one! Jordyn made the Spanish Fork swim team and we couldn't be more proud of her. She's a fish in the water so I shouldn't be surprised that she's doing really well. I loved watching her face when she climbed out of the pool after her first heat.
She was glowing. So was I.
I volunteered to help out and be a timer (that's me in the yellow jacket and hat). All the parents have to help out at one meet during the year and I chose to get it over with nice an quick. Jordyn even lucked into my lane for her first heat - it was awesome to have a front row seat while she made Dickerson history. I had no idea what I was in for. After your kid gets done swimming you can go home. But not the timers! We got to stay the entire time. 6 am makes for an early morning . . . and not leaving until noon made it a long day! I loved every minute of it!!!

Zack turns 15
Holy Crap!! Do I have a 15 year old??? Wow. I guess I should be grateful he's not old enough to drive yet! But still . . . Zack is growing like a weed. He's almost as tall as Todd and I and he's a size 10 shoe so I think he's going to pass his dad by next year!!
He's as comical as ever and has grown so much emotionally this year too. What a MAN he's turning into. I'm proud of Zack and all he's accomplishing!

Gowing backwards
Do you ever feel like there just aren't enough hours in the day? Stupid question right. I never have enough time to do it all . . . and our family blog got chosen to be the one thing that goes on the back burner! But I'm getting too many request for updates so I'm going to travel BACK in time to try to make up for lost time. We've had a lot going on since my last post (oh my . . . 3 months ago) so I made a "mid year resolution" to do better.
Thanks to all of our friends and family who love us so much that they want to see what we're up to all the time! ;) amy

Memorial Day Bugs . . . I mean bliss!
No it was really more like bugs . . . I can't lie and say it was a fantastic place to stay but at least we weren't at home! The view out of the motorhome was beautiful as we viewed the mountains (full of snow which is weird) and Utah Lake. Lincoln beach is about 15 minutes from our house and an easy place to park for a couple of days when you want to get away from the phone. Memorial Day was unusually cold and cloudy this year but fun nevertheless.
We had the pleasure of staying with great friends the Wittusens. They live around the block and have just become more like family than anything else! Here's Andy in his pride and joy speed demon!. Andy is the coolest guy you'll ever meet!

Kayden Turns 8
And Chuck-E-Cheese was the place to celebrate it all! Fun was had by all at the best place on earth (according to 8 year olds) and it was fun to spend time with little kids who still behave at boy/girl parties!

The Moab Experience
Or should I say . . experiment! I had my first real Moab adventure!! Todd's been into rock climbing in his bad arse Jeep but it's always been for the "boys" and not the family. But he's always begging me to go and I was looking to get out of the house. Guess what, it's a blast! (I don't know what I was so scared of really . . and truth is by the time the weekend was over I was wishing I knew how to drive!)
We met new friends and great fun and I can't wait to go back!
Don and Deb are great friends who always make a good time better. Don's been Jeepin' for years and drives like a pro. Jordyn spent a good share of her time in the back of his old scrambler (?? did I get that right Bush?) and he's always a great host.Kayden didn't care where he rode . . . he just wanted to be included. He and Ebony (our little Schauzer) had fun in the sun while dad jammed the tunes so loud we thought we were at a rock concert!

Happy Birthday Todd
Thanks to many friends and family we had a fabulous open house for Todd. He's officially 40 years YOUNG and going strong. We are blessed to have such amazing people in our life and love to have shared this night with many of you.
A highlight was the signing of Todd's memory album. Of course I made him a Heritage Makers book to showcase his fabulousness!! There were many who signed it and left amazing comments for an amazing guy. See the book preview at http://www.heritagemakers.com/?event=projectBrowse&projectId=4e43a322-9a83-4257-9329-a8093f2dd260&productId=11&projectSponsor=151687
Todd got some great old guy stuff.
This is Todd and his family checking out his book. What a special moment for his mom to take a look back over his last few years. Very special moment for all of us. Thank you Heritage Makers!
I don't get very many photo opportunities with my parents. Don't know why but I never get out the camera when I'm with them. I figured it was way past time to get a shot of me with them. It meant a lot to us that they came to support Todd's party. Good people I tell ya!
What a bunch of HUNKS!!! Don, Todd, Scott and Harry. Hubba Hubba!
